Chair
Antony has recently retired after a career
in finance. His final role was as the
first Director of Finance with the Institute of Risk Management.
He trained in the accounting profession
with firms in London before moving into the commercial sector. He worked with a large family company for
many years, which included many varied roles.
In particular he managed the family grant making charity, which gave him
extensive exposure to the charity sector, whilst giving away over £25m to good
causes.
He has had
roles as trustee, treasurer and chair in a number of charities, some of which
continue to this day.
He is a Fellow
of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and the
Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Iain is Chief
Risk Officer, Canada and Global Head of Operational Risk for Canada Life, an
international life assurance and wealth management group, and is based in
Toronto.
Iain’s
working career includes working as an auditor and corporate financier at
Deloitte, a securities regulator at the London Stock Exchange and subsequently
as an insurance regulator for the UK Financial Services Authority. Iain has been CRO with a number of UK and
international companies and is an experienced chair of Risk and Audit
Committees.
Iain is a
Chartered Accountant, a Certified Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management
and recent Chair of the IRM Board.
Socrates is
the Head of Risk Oversight for a Fortune 250 Reinsurance company.
Socrates
has a varied professional background which includes roles in engineering, risk
advisory and insurance underwriting in the UK, Europe and MENA region. During his 25-year executive career in risk
management, he has demonstrated his agility to respond quickly and effectively
to change, and help organisations build and develop their risk management
capabilities.
He has a
strong commitment to coaching, engagement and inclusive leadership, with significant
experience in the Non-Profit sector as Non-Executive Director and Board Chair.
Socrates is
a Chartered Insurance Risk Manager, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance
Institute, a Certified Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management and recent
Chair of the IRM Board.
Giuliano has over 30
years’ experience in the financial services sector in business strategy,
product development and corporate governance positions in senior management and
executive roles as well as consultancy and advisory roles. His main areas of expertise are in derivatives,
clearing and settlement, electronic trading platforms, change management and,
more recently, the renewable energy sector. He has been a financial markets trader, investor
and systems developer. He speaks three languages.
Giuliano is an experienced
Executive and Non-Executive Director, Foundation Trustee, coach and mentor.
Giuliano holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi Business School.
Weiye is a Financial Analyst specialising
in macroeconomic risk at an international investment bank, providing management
advice and support with respect to business, regulatory and audit requirements
for risk analysis.
Weiye is an experienced financial analyst
and risk management specialist. For five years she has worked in the economic
consulting sector, with positions held in major financial advisory firms
including KPMG. Weiye has worked with high profile businesses in multiple
sectors, such as retail, banking, real estate and asset management, to offer
advice on international business structuring and the impact of the economy on
their businesses.
She has actively volunteered with multiple
education organisations on international education and international student
issues.
Weiye holds an MPhil in Economics from the
University of Oxford. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of
the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Simone is the Associate Dean for the MSc
Programmes and Assistant Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Insurance at Bayes
Business School (formerly Cass).
Before joining academia, Simone worked for
more than 10 years in the insurance industry in several positions such as
underwriting and controlling. Simone joined the Centre for Risk and Insurance
at Leibniz University of Hannover as a Lecturer and Researcher in insurance,
where she led several projects and successful grant applications. In 2012
Simone moved to London to help start up University of East Anglia’s London
campus before joining Westminster Business School as a Senior Lecturer in
Finance. In 2018 Simone joined Bayes’ Faculty of Actuarial Science and
Insurance.
Simone’s research interests are
particularly in the area of organisational insurance demand, ESG in insurance
as well as export credit insurance. She also provides consulting and training
in her area of expertise.
Simone holds a doctoral degree (Dr. rer.
pol.) and a German University degree (Diplom Ökonom) in Business and Economics
from the Leibniz University of Hannover, is a Fellow at the Institute for Trade
and Innovation at Offenburg University and Associate of the House of Insurance
at the Leibniz University of Hannover. She
is also a certified insurance professional (Versicherungskauffrau, Chamber of
Industry and Commerce).
